3 Yoga Practices for Better Sex: Vitamin G: glamour.com

Want to hear an embarrassing story? A long time ago, I was trying to explain Sting's love for yoga to my parents. I don't even know why we were talking about this, or why I was so impassioned about the topic on this particular day, but I remember trying to make it really clear that yoga was a major part of his (and wife Trudie Styler's) life philosophy.

"It's just that he's very--" I began, grasping for the word that could maybe, possibly mean "devoted to yoga" and coming up only with that line from the Barenaked Ladies song"--tantric!"

You can imagine how they laughed. And I never talked about Sting's sex life again. Um, until today, I guess.

Because yoga moves and practices are linked to whole-body health and even to improved sexual experiences, MyYogaOnline.com has just launched its "Yoga for Better Sex Series," with a new video every day until Valentine's Day, and here's why, according to co-founder Michelle Trantina:

"The many benefits of a healthy sex life are well documented. Being present in the moment, reduced stress, better sleep, fewer colds and improved strength, flexibility and confidence are all benefits of yoga that support greater intimacy with your partner. We?re taking the techniques of yoga--including pranayama, bandhas, asanas, kriyas and more--and applying them to enhancing the sensual aspects of your physical and metaphysical self.?

Coach Kim Anami explains in this video how breathing exercises and yoga moves can add up to even better experiences in the bedroom. MyYogaOnline.com shared these three yoga practices that you can try ASAP:

Breathe. Practice slow, deep breathing and incorporate it into your sensual experience whether you are with a partner or on your own. Inhale for four counts, and exhale or four counts, bringing awareness and focus to your breath.

Pelvic power is core power. Become aware of your mula bandha (energetic lifting of the pelvic floor) during sex. Have more awareness of the bandhas (energetic locks) during your yoga practice, and then bring that into your sensual experience.

Eye contact. Practice sustained eye contact with your partner to deepen intimacy and strengthen the bonds of your relationship.

Do you do yoga regularly? Does your partner? (If not, here are a few sneaky ways to convince him to go!)
